Lymphoedema

Lymphoedema is a kind of swelling of body tissues. Lymphedema is mainly caused by the removal or damage to lymph nodes as a part of cancer treatment. It results from a blockage in the lymphatic system, which is part of the immune system. The blockage prevents lymph fluid from draining well, and the fluid buildup leads to swelling. The condition is incurable, but can be managed with early diagnosis and diligent care of the affected limb.
